LGBTed is delighted to offer, for the third year, our fully funded Proud Leadership programme, promoting more diversity into school leadership, specifically teachers identifying as LGBTQ+ or allies. This unique programme is a series of 3 full day CPD events followed by 3 hours of bespoke mentoring and training not available anywhere else! *
This year we’re delighted to be fully funded and supported through the Teach First Network Fund.
The programme aims to promote more diversity and encourage the promotion of LGBT+ teachers into leadership positions in schools, thereby more accurately reflecting the diversity of the teaching population, the young people they teach and their families. 75% or previous participants have achieved promotion or more responsibility in their teaching roles as a result of the empowerment and support the course offers.
The topics covered include:
- Designing an LGBT+ inclusive curriculum
- Unconscious bias
- Intersectional Leadership and inclusion
- Creating trans-inclusive schools
For each day (Friday 4 March, Friday 22 April and Friday 20 May) the morning sessions will start at approximately 9.30 and the afternoon session at approximately 1pm via Zoom.
NB: When registering, you only need to select one date.
*Mentoring is offered on a first-come first-served basis upon successful completion of the three CPD days. Priority will be given to those who commit to all 3 training sessions when allocating the unique, bespoke mentoring at the end of the course, tailored to support your career goals as an LGBT+ teacher
