Science of Learning and Learning Engineering in an AI World

Join our webinar to critically examine Learning Engineering in an AI-driven world. We’ll discuss how rapid advances in AI and generative tools are reshaping educational design, exploring whether Learning Engineering is the right approach today. Grounded in the Science of Learning, we’ll consider the promises and challenges of integrating AI, such as hyper-personalized learning, equity, and cultural relevance. We’ll also address the biases in generative AI and ask: Can Learning Engineering and AI support diverse learners and adapt to complex educational contexts? Join us for this timely conversation at the intersection of learning engineering, the science of learning and AI.

We will have the pleasure of learning from our distinguished speakers:

  • Dr. Melina Uncapher, founder and CEO of SETA-ED, and a former university professor of educational neuroscience, most recently with labs at Stanford and UC San Francisco. She was a co-founder and Chief of R&D of AERDF, one of the premier education R&D nonprofits in the US.
  • Dr. Shafika Isaacs, Chief of Section for Technology and AI in Education at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. As an international specialist in digital learning, AI, and education, she has spent the past two and a half decades building communities, coaching professionals, and leading global, regional, and national digital learning initiatives. She also serves as Professor of Practice at the University of Johannesburg.
  • Dr. Bror Saxberg, founder of Learning Forge LLC. Before founding LearningForge, Bror headed up Learning Sciences within the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative’s Education work, and worked with various internal and external project teams to bring learning engineering in.

The webinar is open to anyone interested in education and learning, whether you are a researcher, educator, policymaker, startup entrepreneur, learner, or parent seeking to understand the intersection of the Science of Learning and Learning Engineering in an AI world.
