With such a positive focus on curriculum developing within education, we will be exploring the national shifts to curriculum, hearing from a range of experienced practitioners.
Our keynote will be delivered by Professor Michael Young of UCL, author of several publications including Knowledge and the Future School: Curriculum and Social Justice. Professor Young will be joined by Dr Jim Hordern of Bath University to discuss Why knowledge? Why subjects?
Alongside Professor Young and Dr Hordern, Claire Stoneman, Deputy Head of Academy and English teacher at Erdington Academy, Birmingham, Nicholas Garrick from Lighting up Learning and a local HMI will be discussing their take on the curriculum. As well as hearing from these speakers, you will have an opportunity to ask the panel your thoughts on knowledge and the curriculum.
