We are keen to encourage collaboration and debate by representing a wide range of views, and welcome submissions from teachers, researchers, teacher educators, and all others engaged in supporting educators and the education system. Impact includes contributions in the following formats:
- Research: Summaries of current, original research (including practitioner research) with their implications for pedagogy
- Perspectives: Pieces offering a clear, balanced, research-informed review or critique of a particular topic within the issue theme
- Case studies: Detailed studies of single settings or occurrences with clearly defined boundaries, such as a pedagogical intervention, an assessment initiative or an approach to CPD in a particular context
- Reflections: Teachers discussing a specific piece of research and how it has informed their practice.
We run a relatively short publishing schedule, with calls for papers usually being issued 4-6 months before publication of an issue. Initial calls for papers require a title and short abstract, which is then reviewed. Full submissions are then requested, with submissions being peer-reviewed and returned for revision before approved final articles are published in the print and / or online versions of Impact.
All submissions should follow the style and word limits of our author guidelines.
