Chartered Teacher (Mentor) Status is a professional learning and accreditation pathway for school-based mentors that supports career-long development, relevant to all phases, settings and subject areas. Chartered Teachers are recognised for evidence-informed, high-quality teaching practice, benefiting their school and the children and young people they teach.
The role of the mentor may vary depending on its context. Typically mentors will be employed as a classroom teacher or leader, and will have been allocated a specific mentoring responsibility. This might include mentoring as part of initial teacher training, the Early Career Framework, or mentoring to support continued professional growth. It does not necessarily include individuals undertaking broader activities associated with induction or mentoring, for example, those with line manager or induction co-ordinator or link tutor roles.
To work towards Chartered Teacher Status, you must first hold MCCT or FCCT membership of the Chartered College of Teaching. Through enroling on this course, you will get access to detailed guidance and content to guide you through your Chartered journey through our online platform MyPD.
Please ensure that you check the eligibility requirements on our website before purchasing. You should not purchase this bundle on behalf of another person through your own membership account.
N.B Please note, you will only be able to submit your application for Chartered Teacher (Mentor) Status once you have successfully passed the main assessment units.
Prerequisites
To purchase this pathway you must be eligible to register as a candidate for Chartered Teacher (Mentor) Status (see above).
If you have recently completed another qualification, we may be able to use this as credits towards Chartered Status. Before you purchase this pathway, check to see if you are eligible for Recognition of Prior Certified Learning.
