Thriving in your first year: Closing the inclusion gap and working with pupils with SEND

Members Only

This webinar comes to you as part of a supportive new series from the Chartered College of Teaching, designed for student teachers as they take their first steps into the profession, which can sometimes feel daunting.

This session aims to:

  • Explore how inclusive practice supports all pupils to feel valued, engaged, and experience a sense of belonging within your classroom.
  • Understand how to work effectively with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) by recognising diverse needs and removing barriers to achievement.
  • Discuss how building positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues strengthens the support provided to and around learners.
  • Provide key strategies to close the inclusion gap through adaptive teaching, thoughtful planning and evidence‑informed approaches that promote equity for all.

We will be joined by sector experts to offer practical strategies, evidence‑informed insight, and space to reflect as you take your first steps into the classroom.
