After twelve years teaching and working in leadership roles across the UK, Jamie Thom left the classroom in August of 2022 to set up and run the English PGDE at Napier University in Edinburgh. He has written four books, his latest is ‘Talking to Teenagers’, which focusses on classroom communication. He hosts ‘Beyond Survival: the new teacher podcast‘, a popular podcast for teachers at the start of their career and now also teaches English one day a week in a secondary school in Edinburgh.

Dr Steve Murray, Lead Practitioner for Data and Research at Orchard School Bristol and Trust Leader in Education for Trust in Learning Academies (TiLA). Steve has a MSc and PhD in Climate Science and has taught geography in a number of secondary schools in North Bristol. He also has experience in middle and senior leadership, with both pastoral and pedagogical responsibility.
