Oracy is set to become part of the national curriculum in England for primary and secondary schools. But what does that mean for assessment? This webinar discusses some of the principles of oracy assessment such as assessing oracy skills themselves and also assessing curriculum subjects through oracy, including formative assessment. The second part of the webinar looks at some practical strategies for assessing oracy in the classroom. This webinar is suitable for primary and secondary teachers and leaders.

Dr Laura Kerslake is leading the Next Generation Assessment project at the Chartered College of Teaching. She has been working on an oracy research review to provide evidence-informed guidance to teachers and leaders on oracy teaching, learning and assessment. She has carried out several oracy-based projects in schools and delivered teacher professional development widely across the country.
