Child-centred play and outdoor learning

Whoa. Off it goes. I wonder where it’s going.

Oh, maybe it is. Right, [child’s name], should we carry on? Bye bye, train.
Right, a little dip here. Are you ready to squeeze again?
Daffodils. Daffodils, oh yeah, good spot. They’re looking a little bit sorry for themselves now, aren’t they?

Bluebells. Bluebells. Yeah, daffodils and then bluebells, both very good spots. Right, are you all right squeezing past there? Nicely done.
Ready? There we go, across the zebra crossing.
Right, I’m just going to tip you guys back. Ready?
Can you hear [child’s name]’s eggs shaking in her bag, [child’s name]? Can you hear your eggs, [child’s name]? Can you hear them shaking as you run along?
Yeah.
It’s fun, isn’t it? You’re providing us with some music.

OK, ready to go? Shall we go this way? You want to see the pumpkin? Shall we have a look at it very quickly? I don’t think it’s there. It’s gone all back into the earth.

I think it might have all gone, you know?
Yeah.
Finally. It took a while though, didn’t it?

That’s where it was, I think. You’re right. But it’s all gone. Right, should we move on? [child’s name], do you want some help putting your backpack on?
Yeah.

Little bit tricky, yeah. Watch that bit. Can you see that bit across there in front of you? So you’ll need to take a big step over it or go around it. Which would you like to do? Go over it. You went around it. [child’s name] went over it. What’s [child’s name] going to do? You going to go around it?
There we go, nicely done. No, [child’s name] went over it, I think.
I heard a bird.
You heard a bird. OK, this way then.
I’ve got some sticks. You’ve got some sticks. Yeah, I can see you’ve got two sticks. Oh, look. There’s little yellow ones there. I think…

They could be buttercups. That one’s definitely celandine.
