Building a culture of research engagement within a professional learning community: The case of the Great North Maths Hub

This article describes the work of the Great North Maths Hub to support a community of around 40 ‘Local Leaders of Maths Education’ (LLMEs) to more confidently access, critique and apply research evidence in practice. It shares four key challenges that we encountered as LLME Community Leads and the support that we developed to address these: articulating research questions; time; accessing research evidence; and collecting data.
