At King Edward VI College, Stourbridge, a sixth-form college of around 2,700 students, all teachers participate in a bespoke coaching programme over an 18-month rolling period, providing personalised continuing professional development (CPD). By ‘bespoke’, we mean a structured but flexible programme, tailored to meet the development needs of individuals at all career stages. Staff voice feedback informs frequent reflection sessions by the five teacher coaches, enabling sharing good practice and peer support (see Sharples et al., 2024), allowing coaches to improve their coaching skills and ensuring high-quality coaching sessions, while maintaining the confidentiality crucial to effective coach–coachee relationships (see Miles, 2023; Heineke, 2013).
