About our presenters:

Vicki Medina CTeach MEd

Whole School Literacy Lead and Teacher of English, Gordonstoun School
Council Member, Chartered College of Teaching

Vicki began her teaching career in 2010 after completing her BA (Hons) in English and
Comparative Literature at The University of Warwick, working in three different schools in the
West Midlands before moving to Scotland in August 2021. She has achieved Chartered Status,
has an MEd from The University of Birmingham and is currently waiting on the results of her
NPQML. Her special interests within teaching are SEND, EAL, Pupil PremiumAdditional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities, teaching
and learning, and boys’ attainment. She is an elected member of the Council of The Chartered
College of Teaching, a role that has provided her with a number of exciting opportunities,
including consulting on teachers’ CPD at the DfEDepartment for Education - a ministerial department responsible for children’s services and education in England, working closely with the Council and, of
course, this webinar! During her career, she has worked with an incredibly diverse range of
young people from a wide range of backgrounds and has cultivated a particular interest in
working with and supporting refugees. Additionally, she has taught English Language and
English Literature from KS3 to KS5, KS5 Criminology and GCSE Citizenship. She is currently
studying for a BSc in Psychology with Counselling through The Open University.

Dawn Cox CTeach

Head of RE, Manningtree High School

Dawn is an experienced teacher and leader having worked in various roles including AST, Assistant principal and SLE. She is a Religious Education specialist but also has an interest in teaching & learning across subjects. She writes a blog on education and has written teacher resources including the recent ‘Making Every RE lesson Count’ book (Crown House) with Louise Hutton.
