Webinar: Rethinking Assessment

A discussion on assessment by members of the Rethinking Assessment group.

The Chartered College of Teaching hosted a discussion chaired by Dame Alison Peacock (Chief Executive, Chartered College of Teaching) looking at the future of exams and Rethinking Assessment.

There is a growing belief that there is something wrong with our exam and assessment system. The Rethinking Assessment movement is bringing together figures from across the education systems to make the argument for change and to provide ideas and solutions that develop the full and diverse range of strengths of every child.

In this webinar recording, members of the Rethinking Assessment group answered questions and discussed the current state of assessment in the country, what we have learnt from the events of this Summer and what needs to change in the future. Joining Dame Alison Peacock for the discussion:

What should the future of assessment look like?

Partial school closures necessitated new ways of assessing and giving feedback to learners and caused uncertainty over examinations. For the summer 2021 issue of Impact, we are seeking papers focusing on assessment and feedback.
