At the British School in Tokyo, we’ve been exploring two simple but powerful ways Artificial Intelligence (AI) can support our teachers: helping write reports and supporting them to practise difficult conversations. Both examples show that, when used thoughtfully, AI can do more than just automate tasks; it can free up precious time, build confidence, and enhance the kind of reflective practice that makes professional learning stick. This was a school-wide initiative involving teachers across multiple departments in our secondary school. We began with a small pilot group of 10 teachers in Term 1, who volunteered to trial the tools and provide initial feedback. Following successful trials, we extended the intervention in Term 2 to all teaching staff involved in report writing. We organised the intervention through staff briefings, opt-in training sessions, and one-on-one support clinics for those intereste
