A discussion of upcoming challenges facing schools relating to AI

BEN SCOTT, SCIENCE TEACHER AND DIGITAL LEADER, ST ALBANS SCHOOL, UK Introduction This May, digital leaders across 10 independent schools in the southeast of England met for a day of collaboration to share examples of good practice and initiatives they are embracing within their institutions. Before attending, guests were asked ‘What upcoming challenges are your schools facing in the next 12-18 months?’. These were collated and formed part of a roundtable discussion of seven different areas. Two areas came up related to artificial intelligence (AI): AI and ethical use and staff training. This article summarises the discussions that took place around these topics and the approaches different schools are taking.
