This study aims to explore the experiences of education stakeholders with adopting and managing safe and responsible technology in schools and classrooms, and the perspectives of policymakers on AI assurance. The goal of this project is to understand whether, and if so, how end-users of AI technologies in education are currently involved in the process of AI adoption, safety and regulation.
This study also aims to uncover the process of engagement and considerations between policy stakeholders with education stakeholders, and to support government and regulators in considering the significance and value of frontline users’ input in the AI regulatory process.
We are looking for volunteers in England working as educators, principals, or technology decision-makers in schools to participate in semi-structured interviews related to their experience with adopting and using AI in their practice, and their consideration of responsible technology principles in the process.
You are invited to participate in an online study for a 30-60 minute interview. You would be asked to share about your experiences adopting and using AI in your school, share about your school’s process to vet and manage AI-technology related risks, and discuss your own roles and responsibilities related to introducing safe and responsible technology in your
school/classroom.
If you are interested and would like more information please contact Tiffany Kwok at the Department of Education, at tiffany.kwok@pmb.ox.ac.uk. There is no obligation to take part.
