What is the purpose of the study?
The purpose of the study is to explore the relationship between teacher self-efficacy (confidence in teaching ability) and perceived stress. It will also examine whether this relationship differs depending on teaching context (mainstream or special educational needs settings) and years of teaching experience.
This research aims to contribute to better understanding of teacher wellbeing and may help inform future strategies to support teachers in managing stress. The study is being conducted as part of a postgraduate dissertation at the University of Wolverhampton.
Why have I been chosen?
You have been invited to take part because you are a qualified teacher currently working in a UK school. To take part, you must be aged 18 or over, hold qualified teacher status (or equivalent), and have at least one year of teaching experience.
Do I have to take part?
It is up to you to decide whether to take part. If you decide to participate, you will be given this information sheet to keep and asked to sign a consent form. If you decide to participate, you are still free to withdraw without giving a reason. You may withdraw before submission by exiting the questionnaire. After submission, data may be withdrawn for up to 72 hours using a unique participation ID code. After 72 hours, data will be fully anonymised and can no longer be identified or withdrawn.
